Droid Accessory: Pouch or Case?

Was wondering if anyone bought a case or pouch for the Motorola Droid. I purchased the Body Glove case with the rubberized texture, but found that sliding the keyboard back and forth was a pain. I know they make a similar case without the rubber texture, I'll have to see if sliding the keyboard is the same amount of hassle.
Then I got to thinking about the docks and was thinking that the Droid might not fit in the either the home dock or car dock, so maybe a pouch might be the better way to go.
Case or pouch - what did you (or would you) go with?

I purchased the case and it works great. However I don't have the cradle charger yet and don't know if it will fit in that.

I like the Body Glove - I find that the rubberized texture allows me to slide it open easier.
Will the dock work with this without taking it off?

i got the pink smooth snap on case from the verizon store. You have to remove the back case in order for the droid to fit in the home docking station & the car mount.

How much of a pain in the butt is it to remove the back case? I am going to upgrade to the Droid and would like to get the cradle and also the shell/holster combo.

On my G1 it is hard to get off the back cover too, but I've managed

the removal of the backside of the shell/holster combo is easy. i have one, car dock, and media dock and it takes me all of 2 seconds to remove it. .
however, start removing it from the side opposite of the power button. you might be tempted to keep doing from that side but there was a post of someone who did and it tended to warp that side. now, its never happened to me, and i have no particular preference on which side to remove the backing, but its better safe than sorry.
but it's real easy.
the only part that takes some time to remove is the front side. its takes some doing

I like the pouch because I wear the phone on my hip. (I don't like the phone broadcasting near my STUFF). and also because I don't like having covers and screen protectors detract from the feeling of the phone, or having the phone feel bigger. PLus I like the full protection of the pouch. Just my preference!

I bought the holster that my Verizon store had for the Droid - I like it. After having several different cases for my iPhone 3GS, I just prefer the "naked" phone and the holster is small enough to slip in my pocket.

I prefer the carrying case, almost, the ones where you clip on your belt. Except I don't prefer to show mine, It kind of comes off pompous.

The cases my Verizon store had for the Droid Eris were the cheapest, most pathetic pieces of junk I've ever seen, and of course were priced as top-dollar items. (i.e. $25). The only real belt pouch they had was a very stiff, hard leather, with no soft interior, meaning the screen would definitely have gotten scratched up. Oh, and of course the guy tried to sell me the screen protectors for $13, which is a rip-off, not to mention my opinion that screen protectors are a lousy investment anyway.
I went to my local Best Buy, and found an Eddie Bauer brand universal horizontal leather belt pouch with magnetic flap. The Droid Eris fits in it perfectly, almost like it was made for the Eris. I believe the Moto Droid would also fit in it quite comfortably, but I read that magnetic flaps appear to cause the Droid screen to wake up automatically, so that's probably not a good idea. Unlike Verizon's cheapie, this thing has nice leather on the outside and soft interior lining. It's a little on the clunky side, compared to my old flip phone case, but that was to be expected since the Eris is quite a bit larger than my old phone.

You wouldn't want that Eddit Bauer case (Or any other magnet clasp) for the Moto Droid, the magnet will activate the docking sensor in the phone and keep it awake.

I'm going with the holster and full body invisible shield (zagg.com, coupon code protect20 for 20% off)
I have zagg on all of my devices (including touch screen ones) and it is absolutely wonderful!
hard to put on, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy, plus they replace them for lifetime for free (though I can't see why you would need to)

Is there an accessory for the Droid like an arm band like the iPhone has to wear around the arm, as if you were at the gym or running? I know those were intended for the iPod, but figured that since the Droid is capable of playing music as well as other things, hopefully one is available.

I'm a pocket guy. I don't like carrying my phone on my hip because I end up either bashing it when brushing up against something and/or popping off my hip onto the floor. I also don't like the look of a hip pouch. I'm picking up the silicone case for mine today. I've heard they snag on pockets when removing, etc but personally, anything that makes me more careful about removal is a good thing.

I ordered the Zagg full body invisibleshield a couple of days ago. I also used the protect20 coupon code. I think this will protect the phone pretty well. I don't like to carry on my hip either. Usually carry in my purse or pocket. I have been know to drop my phone at times, so hoping this will keep it from getting scratched.

My only suggestion is to avoid any cases with magnetic closures. The Droid (Eris isn't a prolem with the magnets) is designed with magnetic sensors for the car dock and the "multimedia" station. If you have a case (like the one I had for my hero) with a nice secure magnetic clasp in the middle, the phone will stay "awake" in multimedia docking mode the entire time it's in the case.
