When I try to text with the Droid I go to: "Messaging" then "New Message", then when I tap "To" i have to type in the entire phone # cause nothing comes up from my contacts. Is there something wrong with it or the way I am doing it? The only other way is for me to go to contacts and tap messaging and go from there. If I get a text and type a reply it gets sent to others in my contacts and not to the person it should.

i too come across the same problem that you described in the first part of you post.
i usually go the the messaging thread (assuming i have messaged them before) and continue the thread without having to go to the contacts.
or if i have not messaged them before then yes i do go to the contacts.
if it is someone you message alot then you can make that person a short cut for messaging.
as for the messages going to someone else, i have no idea. sorry

After you select to "To:", if you start typing the persons name a list will pop-up and start narrowing down as you type additional letters. Or at least it should. Obviously, the person has to be in your "Contacts" list for this to happen.
