My Droid Charge disconnects the phone from bluetooth via the Ford Sync in my 2011 F150.  This seems to happen 1 minute after connecting.  Anyone else having the same issue or know why the phone keepings timing out? My Droid 1 didn't have this issue.

Ok, might have this issue fixed.  I started my truck with the bluetooth off on my phone.  let it run for 30 seconds or so and then turned on the bluetooth.  I then forced connected to the bluetooth by pushing the phone sync button on my steering wheel.  So far I have keep connection the last 2 days while getting in and out of my truck during the day.  Crossing my fingers this keeps working.

The problem has not been solved those are just 3 other threads that are having a problems with bluetooth, but not the problem i am having.  I can download the phone book fine. I can make calls, I can stream music.  The problem is my phone disconnects from the bluetooth after 1 minute if I am not doing one of the above things.  its not suppose to disconnect until I turn off the truck and exit the vehicle.

I can't reproduce your problem, because I don't have a car that can sync with the phone through Bluetooth. However, I'd like to suggest some diagnostic steps that you may or may not have taken.

1. Review the owner's manual or manual for the Bluetooth function in your truck. There may be some setting that needs to be changed.
2. If this is not helpful, it may be a power management issue with the phone itself. I would add the widget called Power Control to one of your home screens and see whether the phone is turning off Bluetooth. To add this widget, long press on any blank area of a home screen. When the window pops up, select Widgets and then scoll down to Power Control; press it to add it to your screen. It is a large widget (takes up a whole row) so make sure you have enough blank space when you press to add it.
3. If neither of those works, perhaps it is in the setup of the Bluetooth connection. I can't give you details here, because again I don't have the ability to set up a Bluetooth connection with my car.

Hope some of this was helpful, and good luck!

I have a Droid x2 Charge an the first thing I did was go to Ford Sync signed in downloaded the updates and installed them in my 2011 E-250 with my droid x2 OFF. The next step was to remove old MotoQ9C from the Ford Sync in my truck. Next step was to turn on my Droid x2 charge with bluetooth enabed. Went to add it paired the phone then on Ford Sync it asked to download phonebook I hit ok on the radio put the phonebook in an haden't had one problem since. Stays connected all the time no problems with anything. At Ford Sync you can print out step for step how to download updates and how to install them in your vehicle using the RADIO BUTTONS not the buttons on the steering wheel. Also how to REMOVE yor old phone to get it ready to pair for the new one. Hopes this helps everybody

Something strange I noticed, I have to cycle the mobile data to keep my bluetooth sync'd on my Ford Sync.

It's been a few days since you posted this solution. Is it still working?

I have a 2010 Taurus SHO with SYNC and a Samsung Charge. I was able to pair the phone and upload my contacts without issue. But now the Bluetooth connection is sporadic. One day it works, the next three days it won't. One time I pressed the Aux button and the phone paired, the Bluetooth icon came on the SYNC display and all was well - until the next day. Now the SYNC Bluetooth icon won't come on at all. The Bluetooth icon is displaying on the phone all the time so I assume it is still on.

This is a very frustrating issue and I don't know if it's the phone or SYNC at fault. I'm taking the car to the dealer tomorrow and asking them to reinstall the SYNC software/firmware. To my knowledge there are few Bluetooth settings in SYNC to fiddle with - if any other than on/off. I have heard that the Charge has Bluetooth "mapping" issues that are not specific to any device but are different from other phone's approach to Bluetooth implementation.

I hope Verizon and Samsung distribute the Gingerbread OS update soon as it may very well address the Bluetooth mapping issues I've heard elsewhere.

Off topic, but how's your 2010 SHO?  I had a 1996 SHO that was great, but I got rid of it because I was afraid of catastrophic engine failure (camshaft separation).

The new SHO is outstanding! The engine is a 365-hp twin-turbo (EcoBoost) 3.5L V6 that really lives up to the SHO name. Put the tranny in M and use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel to put some fun into driving. The interior comfort of the car is exceptional - I traded in a 2005 Cadillac STS on it and the difference is amazing. The trunk is HUGE. On the outside, the styling turns heads. I got the blind spot sensors and backup camera as well as cross traffic sensors with it. About the only thing it doesn't have is the MyTouch - which is no biggie as I've heard there are a lot of problems with the touch screen version of SYNC and I already have a nice Garmin GPS.

So yes, I am a big fan of this car. But I want the Bluetooth issues fixed!!
