Is the Droid Charge going to get an update anytime soon from the 2.2 (Froyo)?

From what has been discussed, ad nauseum, in other threads, it would seem that 2.3.4 could be coming sometime this summer. But nobody really knows..

i have seen it on  a rooted device thats about it >.<, which is not even legit. is gingerbread that better of an update over froyo,

Edit, there is a theme in the market for ginger bread OS, I am just not sure how that OS really looks lol, i am a android n00b. I thought Droid Charge was stock android anyway?

If you are new to Android, you may know that unlike other phone operating systems, Android's implementation is very dependent of the phone provider.  Unlike Apple, which keeps tight control over iOS, Google's Android system is implemented on tons of devices, and often the phone manufacturer or service provider will tweak the OS with their own mods, or add bloatware that promotes their own products/services and bottom line.

As you browse this forum you will notice there are a lot of issues out there affecting a lot of Charge users.  Many of us are hoping that the new iteration of the Android OS will address some of these.

Good luck with your new Charge and visit the forum often.  I certain have learned a lot about the phone and the OS and other tips and tricks from reading/contributing here.

got battery swtiched that fix that LOL! Its better let the battery drain first then charge it screws up the battery charge time, oringal battery was bad

got two accounts on here idk why lol iam medina and funkycoldmedina idk why it asked me to make another one, i like the phone LOL, finally learned the great 3G and 4G issue it switches  out to much lol. Hopefuly they update 4G issues unless gingerbread would fix that.

Lets not get into a Gingerbread 2.3.x update just yet...remember how it took Samsung almost a year for Froyo to be on the Fascinate. Don't get your hopes up just yet.
