I'm new to the message board, so hello everyone! I have only had my Incredible 2 for a few weeks now and the camera keeps going to a black screen when I try to take a pic. It's like a race against the clock to get it to take a picture. Does anyone know why it's doing this and if so, what can I do to prevent it? Thanks in advance!

Hello Melissa_E,
Welcome to the forums!
Are you still experiencing this problem with the camera? Have you tried a soft reset by powering off the device and removing the battery? If not, reset your device by removing the battery and placing it back in. If the problem persists, send me a PM with your mobile number.
Thank you,

This is happening to me too! My camera doesn't even start I just get a black screen, same for my camcorder. I downloaded a camera APP that popped up with a message about being unable to access the camera hardware and needing a new driver. I have been scouring to find out how to reset the driver for the camera hardware...any ideas??
Thanks!

Oh no jar323! I can assist you with this. This sounds like it is an issue with the application. Have you tried to delete/remove the application and reinstall it? Out of curiosity, why are you using a third-party application for the camera? Are there more options?
To remove/delete the application, follow the steps below:
- From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Applications.
- Touch Manage applications.
- Touch the application.
- Touch Uninstall.
- Touch OK.
- Touch OK.
Once you remove the application, test out the camera. Then try to download the application again, if the issue persists it is due to that third-party application. We recommend to delete it permanently if it persists and perhaps use the camera on your device or an alternate application of your choice.
Thank you,

I understand the frustration you are experiencing with using your camera on your HTC Droid Incredible 2!
Other than the steps mentioned earlier, have you tried clearing the camera's cache and data in the Settings menu? I am including a link with instructions below:
Reset Application - HTC DROID Incredible 2 ADR6350
Let me know how this works out for you!

Thank you for your reply, Anthony! I did try clearing the cache, and I also did a factory reset, twice. Nothing restored it-- I took it in to the Verizon store and they sent me a replacement phone.
