Droid Incredible Photo Albums

How do you create photo albums on the droid incredible?  I have found no way to do this on the phone and every pic I take goes into camera shots and all photos folders.

I would like to be able to organize my photos in different albums but cannot figure out how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure the proper way but I hooked my phone up to the pc, created new folders with custom name "vacation", move pics, and when I disconnected and let the phone be for a while it found the folder and made it an album in my photos.

HI.  I see you basically want to create different folders for you photos to store pictures.    is correct.  One way to do it is to hook your phone to your computer to create the folders.  Another way would be do download an application in the application market that will allow you to create folders.  One of those applications is Astro File Manager.

Please let me know if this worked for you. :smileyhappy:

Thanks!

I am also having same problem. Downloaded Astro as recommended, and it is a very good file management tool. I created all the albums and moved my pictures into them. When I was done I opened photos and all I see is camera shots, all photos, and all videos. At bottom of that screen there is a folder icon, but if I tap it only brings the folder icon up larger for a second. If I go into menu, settings, default albums - they show my favorites, all photos, all videos, all downloads. When camera is open I do have it set up to save pictures taken stored on the sd card.  Thanks, Phyllis

I think you have to take out the card and put it back in for the phone to recognize the folders in Astro.  That is what I had to do and it fixed the issue.

I tried these suggestions and when I go to Photos, I still see only the default folders.  I created the subfolders in "DCIM" on my sd card.  Is this correct?  Any further suggestions?

I recommend Estrong's File Manager over Astro. Astro requires too many of its plugins to work the way I wanted it to. Estrong lets you do via bluetooth and everything else. It's pretty slick.

I solved the problem.  You need to create a new folder for your albums.  If you put the albums in the DCIM folder, they will not appear.  Instead, create a separate folder (for example, call it "Photos"), and create your albums (i.e., subfolders) within that new folder.   I did this on my sd card and all albums appeared.  You can do this through a program like Astro File Manager or by connecting your phone to your computer and creating the folders directly on your sd card.

Is there a way to customize which photo appears as the folder icon?

hopefully the 2.2 gives you the ability to select where you want the photo to go when you take it and/or receive it... i shouldnt have to hook up to my comp hence the reason of having a phone that can do everything.
