I have had my Incredible for a couple of months and generally I like the phone, but I am pretty sure it is evil.
It is killing bluetooth headsets. I have gone through three in two months! I have tried one motorola and two plantronics. They will pair once and I may get one or two calls on them and the next time I try to use them they are dead...not just not charged up...I mean dead. They will be fully charged. I press the button to activate them and they go completely dead...they will no longer charge or turn on in any way.
It is like the Droid sends them a self destruct code.
Any thoughts or methods to exorcise this demon?

Bluetooth headsets are still relatively fragile. There could be a lot of underlying issues with the headset itself. Sometimes the battery fails, or the circuitry fails. If you're blowing them that close to each other, my first guess would that there may be something wrong in the process of them being charged. It's summertime and cooling appliances can draw a lot of current, and perhaps you should try plugging it into a surge protector or ACS.

no, it is not "killing" your headsets, it is a phone and does not have the capability to send an "initiate self destruct sequence" signal to khan's ship.

stop washing your headsets, playing football with them, or whatever else you are doing to break them. obviously, you may not be doing these things specifically, but they are relatively fragile, and will break for little reason.
in short, I do not think your phone is doing this.
