Any news regarding 2.2 update (Froyo) for Moto Droid? Rumor was July 13th...but nothing happened.
I'm still waiting for an official word. Rumors are still rumors but I still have my fingers crossed for today. I keep reading that it will be mid August for the update to arrive and I see others still clingging onto today for the update. If I don't get it I plan on joining the many other rooted Droid owners in the next few days. I would like to keep it simple but im getting impatient and I'm ready to see how 2.2 handles on this phone.
Of course VZW knows all about the hype that Froyo rumors generate. It's too bad that no one apparently at VZW cares to communicate officially with Droid users about the update. The latest info I've seen is a purportedly leaked VZW rumor that suggests "late July." The cynic in me wonders what the motive is behind all the secrecy. Trying to stir interest in DROID X, perhaps? I've given up googling the latest DROID-centric blog posts. The rumors breed rumors and have taken on lives of their own.
