I just got the new Moto Droid and I do not love it! I had the LG Dare...I loved it except I keep breaking the port? Anyway. I had to pick fast my Dare was on its last bar...It had great battery power but I could not charge it due to the port "being crushed" after 2 moths..Very odd- Anyway, so now I have the Droid...you know that cool new phone..bla bla bla..Im not happy...Battery STINKS! And it gets very hot! FB app stinks my Dare had a much better app..how can that be? Ok so the apps options are kinda cool but they open randomly ALL THE TIME...I put the phone to sleep and open it to a ton of open apps it’s just creepy! Yes I have the app killer yes I use it every time NO IT’S NOT HELPING! I thought this would be an upgrade... never thinking my dare would open email and FB faster then the Droid. I’m trying to give it time but after a week I’m so not thrilled! I had thought ok...30 day worry free should I look at the HTC droid I ...yikes the review have me running! NOW WHAT? Anyone love their phone out there other then people who have the IPHONE????

Yes. I went from an LG Dare (very nice phone) to an HTC Doid Eris. LOVE IT! I actually tried an HTC Touch Pro 2 (WinMo) for a few days and hated it. I hate the whole WinMo platform, but that's a totally separate issue. The Eris is a fantastic phone, especially wth Android 2.1 installed. We have three of them in my house and don't know how we ever got along without them. I really truly tried to make myself love the Moto Droid before buying the Eris, but I just couldn't. I know it's all about personal preference, but I've never regretted the decision. I really like the whole idea of the Incredible, and I'm aware it has a few teething problems, but I think battery life may prove to be its biggest downfall. I got to play with one over the weekend...I still love my Eris.

Re; the charging port on the Dare...yeah, that plug was a real bear.  Micro USB is just not a user-friendly plug compared to mini USB.  I always fought with it, but never actually broke it.

I have the Droid & I love it although it took me some time to get used to it. I had purchased the Droid previously, returned it because I was having trouble getting used to the touch screen so in the meantime I used my daughters' old Voyager with the touch screen.  I finally figured that phone out, went back to Verizon & purchased the Droid again.  I'm loving it!!  I do charge my Droid every night so I have a full battery the next day at work.  I'm going back to Verizon tonight to ask them a couple of "how to" questions but all in all, this is a great phone.

Well first of all, you need to condition your battery in order for it to fully charge. That way it'll last  a whole day wtih no problem. Secondly, If youhave the Moto Droid, since the 2.1 update, the only thing Task amanager is generally used for is closing otu of programs that really aren't working/spontaneously combusting.

Otherwise, I have the iPhone (because I have to have it) and I hate it.

I have never used taskkiller before but have read it's pretty good. Even on my G1 phone battery is okay. Could be better for sure though. I have found away to improve the battery life. I am not sure if it is available on the Verizon android phones....but my phone has an option called "battery use". It tells me what has been using my battery the most. So if I open it I can see what apps or other things that are using my battery up the most. From that I can stop them all together. It's a new feature I got on my phone since the last update from T-mobile.

And Mike, you got the iPhone??????  :smileymad::smileymad:  Icky. Bad. Awful.

Unfortunately yes. It had to be done. It HAD to be done :smileysad:

That's why I made a thread earlier asking the forum dwellers if they could donate/sell their old Android phones so that I can use them for a YouTube Channel I was interested in making.

Needless to say, Well, there were no offers (and if there was one, I'm too broke to buy it. College student and all).
