I did a search and if this was addressed in other questions I am sorry my big cat eyes missed....
I accidently pawed a button - not even intentional...and something popped up saying my "SD card can now be safely removed"
Well, I am not able to remove (need some help from a super hero - lol). Now my Gallery says it is empty and ...well
I need help
please...meeaw
Anyone have any suggestions?

all you did was "unmount" your sd card. simple fix.
take out battery, remove sd card, (you do have to apply some extra pressure/finger nail to remove it), re-insert sd card and power back up.

You probably unmounted it. This just happened to me as well. I opened up the back, took out the battery, removed the SD card and reinserted it again. Once I powered up the Droid, it formated the SD card automatically and my media was back.
