Droid R2D2 Wifi

I need some help please! I have a Droid R2D2, for about 2 1/2 weeks now. When I first got it, the Wi-Fi I have at my house, connected once. But then it stopped connecting. It's remembered by my phone, but it won't connect. I've had my phone forget the network, and I've reset my phone. But now it won't connect at all. It'll say authencating....then it won't connect. I haven't even tried it at other places like Borders or Panera. But I didn't spend $106 for some of the features not to work. Can anyone help me please? Thank you so much.

Have you tried a search? I would try that first. It may not be your phone, it may be the router. Routers do not last forever. In fact, I recently had to buy a new router because neither my laptop nor my cell phone saw it. The new router fixed everything. However, back to your problem, try a new search, if it doesn't see the router, yes, go to a place that offers wifi and try your phone there. If it still doesn't work, than it's probably your phone, and a trip to Verizon is in order.

I've actually had exactly the same problem. I've been unable to connect to ANY wireless WIFI networks for a month. The WIFI worked properly for about 2 months but all of a sudden I've been not been able to actually connect with any networks even though the phone can find them. Also is there any way to keep the phone from making R2D2 squeal at start up? Very inconvenient in meetings etc.

Tap the menu button. Settings>Sound. Scroll down to SD notifications and uncheck it, that should keep it quiet.

Hello urnerd18,

Just to make sure I'm understanding the issue, you want the R2D2 notification silenced while booting the phone? I apologize but that is coded into the startup of the phone. There is a way to have it silenced but it's not supported by Verizon Wireless. If you have any additional questions or input, please feel free to respond.
