I went that route...bubbles galore.
After watching this video I think I'll skip the screen protector.

I have used Zagg's products on 3 devices so far and they worked GREAT. I do recommend that you take your time during the application process though. Make sure you get enough spray on the device and GIVE IT TIME TO DRY.
I dropped my pre off the deck the other day and expected it to be broken when I picked it up in the back yard.... Nope, not a scratch.
