I had the problem with my Droid, the display just went black for taking pictures.  I tried everything to get it to work, everything else worked on the phone.  I was getting ready to go back to Verison to see if there was a software update to get it working. I was checking to see what apps I was going to loose and decided to check out my barcode scan program to see if the laser light part worked, and when I hit the scan button the scan came up showing the item in the display.  After that my camera worked.  haven't had any problems since.

Thanks. I took it to Verizon and they formatted my card. All was lost and the card is still blank. Dud SD card.
