Droid X: Contacts: Search By Company Name

Does anyone know how to:

1) Make company name show up in google contacts?

2) Be able to search on phone by company name?

Add a contact

From the main screen, tap contacts

Tap Menu

Tap Add contact

Enter desired information, tap Save

You can add the company name on the PC by logging into your google contacts.  

Try logging into your Gmail Account on the computer not the phone,  and then  go to contacts.  You should then see your contact list, then open a contact and  the name shows in the box to the right of their picture. Change that name to Last Name, First Name,.  Use the same for  Companys, just select the  "..." button  besides the name box and enter the companies name in the first name line only. Then  add a contact persons name and title using the "Title and Company" selection from the "Add" button at the bottom.

There are applications that you can download  on the Android Market Place with more options to search the contacts.

There is a option under contact edit area that allows you to add company name... 

1. Open contact

2. Press left menu button

3. Select edit

4. Scroll down until you see Organization

5. Click little arrow to right and input information for comapany name..

6. Save

2) Be able to search on phone by company name?

1. Open Google Search

2. Press left menu button

3. Search Settings

4. Searchable Items

5. Check Contacts

After doing this you can search by voice with Google Search or while on home page or phone you can press and hold the left menu button until keyboard shows and then start typing name and it will search all search areas including contacts..
