My droid x will no longer "auto connect" to bluetooth devices.
With Froyo I could just turn my car on and it would automatically connect to my stereo... or automatically connect to my laptop, whatever.
Now I have to go into my stereo and manually initiate the connection (They have already been paired).
Or on my laptop, manually say "connect to Droid X" to initiate the connection.
I have set my phone to automatically connect and my car stereo is set to automatically connect as well... Yet it will no longer auto-connect. Very annoying.
(Car is set to connect to phone as an audio device, not as a phone)

I don't know if it relates to your issues, but I've been having issues with my bluetooth accessories as well. I keep dropping connection to my bluetooth Scantool.

Hello crb79:
I know how important it is to be able to maintain a consistent Bluetooth connection. I would like to suggest deleting and reestablishing a paired connection with your Bluetooth accessory in the Bluetooth menu of your Droid.
Let me know how this works out for you.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I've got one of these http://amzn.to/gZSRBl
While still running froyo my droid x would automatically connect when i started the car. Since the gingerbread update I must manually connect in the bluetooth settings. The first thing I tried was unpairing the two devices and re-pairing them. I've tried this several times and it hasn't helped. Any suggestions would be great.

I am believing this may be a miner bug hiccup, I noticed this issue and I seem to be able to resolve this by turning on the discoverable mode under the bluetooth settings window, I am guessing the device has issues authorizing a device after leaving the range of the device unless the user cycles the bluetooth off and on, with the discover option on the device scans regularly and updates the correction when needed.
Try this option or cycle the bluetooth off and on and see if this helps, if it does then this is most likely the case.

I run into a problem once in a while with my bluetooth headset not connecting up the first time I turn it on. It doesn't happen very often. When I turn off my headset, then turn it back on, 99% of the time it reconnects, and only a oouple of times I had to cycle the headset power again.
I have the bluetooth off until I am heading for the car. I always turn the bluetooth on at the phone first, then turn the headset on.
If I turn the headset on first, then the phone, it seems to have a harder time connecting correctly. This happened back in the Froyo days too.
