Droid X Signal In Gastonia NC Problems

I have had the Droid X for a while now. I am from Gastonia NC and this is where I bought it, But then I moved to Hobbs New Mexico for 3 months . Out there I had excellent signal with Verizon but then when I came home The signal has dropped to one bar if any and It doesn't connect to mi Wifi that often either. My sister Has the IPhone 3g on AT&T and she gets perfect signal here and also is always connected to Wifi. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or is this just a Verizon problem?

Have you tried calling *228 option 2 to update your PRL (Preferred Roaming List) since moving back?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Here are the steps to performing the PRL update.

To update the PRL:

Power on the phone within the Verizon Wireless coverage area.
Dial *228 then press SEND (this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
When prompted, press 2 for the option to update the PRL.
Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
Press End to terminate the call.
Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

Yep, *228 should be the answer, your phone gets set on using certain towers in your area and when you relocate it kinda messes up the works and sometimes needs to reset. Most phone companies share towers so if your friend gets good service you are probably using the same tower and just don't know it. Try the update and follow the voice prompts.
