Droid X Turning itself on?

...small question.
Ever since the most recent software update (Gingerbread?), my Droid X has this habit of turning itself back on, uncommanded. I'll shut it off at the end of the day, and sometimes I will hear it come back on in just a few minutes, and sometime if it stays off longer, I will get up in the morning and discover it is on again.
Any way to resolve this?...

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

this happened only one time on my X.... when it occured i did a clear of the cache partition an after doing that mine never had this issue. re occure give it a try there's no gaurantee it will work for ya but it might an if you haven't done a factory reset recently would'nt hurt to do one of those as well. Let me know if this fixes the the issue. B33

As Ann pointed out, this is a very well known and documented Bug that was introduced in GB. I was part of the SOAK test group and encountered this problem the very first couple of nights. I did the Clear Cache procedure - as did many, including Factory Resets - and the problem still persists. Moto is well aware of this issue. If you don't power off your phone every night, it is likely you will not see this issue much at all.

...I'll review the other postings, and see if there is a solution in there, somewhere.
In the meantime, I have done a Factory Boot (third in a series, due to other issues), and have removed and reinstalled the battery, and we'll see if that has any effect. If not, I'll probably go down and get a new one, since it's still under factory warranty. Hopefully, that should ultimately resolve the issue (fingers crossed)...

Chief_Hutz, thanks for your inquiry and thank you to everyone who responded. We have seen this issue occur on the Droid X after the software update and are working with Motorola on a fix. Once a fix is implemented, it will be included as a maintenance release for the phone.

Unfortunately, the recent "fix" to .602 does not seem to have had any effect on the rebooting. I went through another cycle of this last night. Fortunately, this is the only real malady I have encountered with the DroidX and, in the big scheme of things, I can live with it.
If it went away I could not run the nightly lottery on if and when we'd hear "Droid" after shutting it down

Just reactivate your phone dialing *228. After doing a ton of research and finally taking my phone to the verizon store, this is all they did and it fixed the problem for good.

With all due respect, Coincidence, that's all ... This issue has been going on since GB was release over the last 4 months. It's also well documented in teh MOTO forum and they are "supposedly" working on a fix. Time will tell.
