I went in to Verizon today to finally replace my dead env touch with a Droid X, and the salesperson told me I was not eligible for an upgrade. When I asked the guy about this, he didn't seem to know anything about it. I'm stuck with a dead phone now and I refuse to pay another dime towards replacing it. Has anyone taken advantage of this ugrade policy? Or did they shut it down without telling anyone...?
The early upgrade to the Droid X only pertains to the REAL end of the contract, not the early upgrade which is usually 3 months before the actual end of the contract. But, hey, you may be able to do it still. My REAL end of contract wasn't until January 2011, but upon talking to a CSR, I got it moved to July 15, 2010 and received my new phone on the July 21, 2010.
If you call and talk to a CSR and explain that you have been a good customer and your phone is dead, they just might move it up.
And if you get a CSR that doesn't want to do it, just call back later and talk to a different one. Sooner or later, you will get a CSR that will move you up. Just be very polite & pleasant with them and you will get what you want.
My contract upgrade date was April 2011, and the upgrade became available to me on aug 5, and thats when I placed mine on order. Something about the annual date.
Oh well that would make sense I guess because my contract ends in April. My line is not the primary line, but the primary line is eligible for an annual upgrade. Would I be able to use that to upgrade to the X? Would there be any other fees associated with this?
My contract is up in January 2011, I got a notice in the mail telling me that they were moving my eligibility up for the month of august.
