Worst phone EVER. DO NOT BUY.
* Constantly reboots
* Constantly drops data connection
* Totally ignores third-party email for about an hour on its own which is absolutely CRITICAL.
* Will only get email immediately when its powered down, then up.
* 3G coverage blows.
I HATE AT&T and APPLE, but I miss my iPhone already and its only been a week. But it WORKED, ALWAYS.
They should renamer this the ROID X, because it is a PITA POS!
I had a bag phone in the '90's that worked better than this.

And to declare the Dx to be the worst phone ever makes your credibility even less, as if that were even possible at this point.
You've obviously never had to return a bad iphone. I have. And I'd rather go to the dentist thanto deal with apple service again. But I didn't condemn Apple because of it, although I still think that AT&T's service stinks to no end.
Do everyone a favor and get yer phone exchanged. Then come back and tell everyone how much you enjoy a properly-working Dx.

Wow ... got my DX 1 week ago ... I LOVE it ... Have not had any problems at all - and more specifically any of the problems you're seeing. You MUST have received a bad phone... I would get it exchanged and see if all those issues don't go away.

Several people will disagree with you on it being the "worst phone ever". Take a look at the HTC Eris. That phone seemed to bomb. Like Gerio said, exchange the phone for another type of phone. That is the best thing to do. You have a certain amount of days to try out the phone

Have had my Droid X for about three weeks now. Got all the gizmos I wanted and/or needed. Had to do a simple battery pull reboot because I froze the phone, and it was my fault, not the phones. Outside of my one goof, I haven't had a lick of problems. As for phone quality, I had asked people I call if they can hear me, and everyone has answered that it sounded as though I was in the room with them. As for service, the Verizon store I go to must be an exception. They are absolutely wonderful and I have always had top-notch service. If you want terrible service, try Sprint, although to be fair to them, I ujnderstand that their customer service has improved.

I agree-Ignore the people who are telling you to calm down and just exchange it. It's the fact that your not the only one that "just happen to get a bad phone." I am in the processes of exchanging my phone also. They are sending the return packaging this week. Mine over heats and stays frozen. I can't use it at all. There is no compensation from Verizon for the hassle of them sending A LOT of people a bad phone. Right now we just get to vent and decide if we want to stay with Verizon but I think they should investigate why so many "bad" phone are being distributed!!!

SKH. Can you read? I have my doubts.
There is a difference in asking someone to not make generalizations and asking someone to calm down. I did the former. As I am doing to you. The both of you are calling people like me liars. Fair?
And both of you need to exchange your phones and stop kicking the general population in the teeth because we have phones that work. Geri O

OH wait...maybe I can't read. I thought you were the Original poster at first! But, my other points are valid. Who is calling you a liar and who is kicking anyone in the teeth?
I still think you freaked out Gerio for no reason!

3g coverage isnt phone's fault... it is a location issue... if verizon 3g isnt good enough for you location then go back to ATT and iphone4... you may be one of the extremely small percentage of people where at&t 3g coverage is better for... tho the droid X does beat the iphone in performance in every aspect and you cant drop a call with it using just your pinky

Just came from the Sprint forums and it seems no matter where you go you will always find whiners looking for attention. I do not know why for the love of Patty O'Maley do you guys with common sense even respond to these kind of posts.
Just like with the EVO 4G, someone got a bad phone and now the world is over. If you get a phone that is going haywire, it means that YOUR phone is bad not all of them. I know there are peeps out there who have an X and it's working like clockwork from day one. Exchange the phone and keep your mouth shut; no one cares if your phone is broken.

Very good point about level-headed posters responding to these posts.
I wouldn't even go as far as to say for one to keep their mouth shut and exchange their phone (and it may look like I did just that, but I merely requested that the OP stop ranting and raving and calling the phone the "worst ever", calling into question the judgement of thousands of people that have bought the phone and are happy with).
As for DJTonic's response to a post, we shall have to agree to disagree on my response that he called into question. Sorry, I went back and read the post and still not feeling any love from it. I didn't get the agreeing with me angle at all. Paranoria is in the eye of the observer (gee, it took 2 posts to make your point??)
Now, excuse me, but I have to put on my safety glasses as the aliens are due to land any minute now for our evening jaunt around the neighborhood....
Respectfully,
Geri O

Yeah, Sorry Gerio,
If you read my second post, you would see that I thought YOU were the original poster on this one for some reason. That's where I thought SKH was agreeing with you
good luck with the aliens!

Worst phone ever...in my opinion that honor goes to the original Blackberry Storm. I went through 3 of them before Verizon finally sent me a Storm 2. Just got my Droid X yesterday and I absolutely love it.

The Storm 2 is light years ahead of the original Storm. Didn't have any problems with the Storm 2. However, i am glad to be rid of that phone.
