Droid X accessories Verizon will not warranty their own accessory items. Period.

Since Verizon would not and will not warranty any accessories Verizon sells for use with their own products I ordered some aftermarket holsters from the Cell phone shop.

The after market items were much cheaper then the holster I purchased from Verizon.  The holsters I purchased also appear to be of at least as good quality as the Verizon items were.

Since Verizon set the bar at 3 months prior to failing and breaking twice.  I am setting the bar for equal quality at 3 months.

I can not agree about Verizon having a warrenty on the accessories you by from them, I have had a docking station and a power cord replaced by customer service without issues.... Not I may be reading post incorrectly but it sounds like you did not get yours from Verizon but a 3rd party company and Verizon does not replace items from another source, you have to return it to the place that you recieved the item from...

Verizon has replaced my case twice now, and had no issues with refusal.  I went into the store, told them when I bought it, didn't even have the box and they looked up my receipt and replaced it with a new case each time.

Also you stated that the item you got was cheaper but same quality.  How is this possible?  Cheap describes quality, did you mean it cost less?

I've purchased several inexpensive accessories, even some that are the same price as VZW accessories and found that they were much cheaper than the materials used for the VZW items.

I try to purchase all my accessories for my phones from Verizon.  Why?  Ease of replacement if I ever have a problem.  I just take the item back to the Corp. Verizon store where I got it and show it to them, and they replace it.   i.e. I walk out with a new one.

Have you ever tried getting warranty replacement on stuff you buy throught the mail?  (Except maybe Amazon.com or other big online retailer)  Ususally you have to call them and get a MRA (Material Return Authorization)  and then send it back, at your expense.  Then after checking your return, they send you a new one. All this takes maybe a week or more. (I live in Hawaii)

Nope, it's Verizon for me..... much less hassle.
