My Droid X is not working after updating my phone last night.. I updated my phone ot 4.5? of something and now it restarts with a different looking GUI then before(black bar on top) and trys to startup up my safe cell app(like it did before the upgrade), but then gets stuck on a screen that says either Launch GPS settings or Force Close, Wait or Report. I can not hit the buttons to go forward, it just locks up. I have removed the battery(and SD Card) a few times to restart with the same result. I am sometimes able to hit the Force Close button, but then the whole screen just goes black with the menu bar still showing on top. I am able to power the screen on and off, but that is it. Any ideas on how to go back to a pre-update state or get around this? Would a Verizon Store be able to help me?

OK, not sure what "safe cell app" is ... I dont' see anything by that name in market. But it REALLY sounds like you have a 3rd Party APP issue going on. One issue that popped up with GB deals with GPS settings. (I experienced this with extended Controls and my GPS icon -- it now brings up SETTINGS / LOCATION & SECURITY - a BUG in that app which I reported.)
What I would do is uninstall that Safe Cell APP - just to see if you can get past the boot up issue. If you can't sucessfully get the phone all the way booted up, you should try to go into SAFE MODE, then do an UNINSTALL of SAFE CELL (for now); just to confirm that's the issue.
to get into safe mode:
- Power OFF
- Press and HOLD the MENU button
- Continue holding and now power up the phone - but KEEP HOLDING
after a min or 2, the phone will eventually come up and say SAFE MODE in lower left corner ... Go into Market (or whatever you use) and UNINSTALL the APP ...
Just power off and back on as usual - TEST.

Thanks so much. I was able to boot in to Safe Mode, however my phone now appears to start up but the whole screen goes black with just the words "Safe Mode" in the lower left hand corner. I did attempt to go in the the market, but it just said it was not able to run the app yet. I am trying to talk with Verizon tech support.
