Another suggestion to this issue which I don't know has been posted yet as I just skimmed over most of it is, try another battery if available as it's possible for these batteries to swell when they are defective. The swelling might not be noticable but can cause a lot of unpleasent things like this issue. I've seen this happen in other phones and even in laptops. The swelling could be causing the pressure on the screen even i you don't have an extended battery.
Also the swelling normally isn't even that noticable so even if it doesn't looked swollen trying another battery is a great idea.
