Droid X texting issue

When texting, I'm having a problem when I hit the space key the keyboard goes away or the text is not showing up on the screen it is all garbeled....I've restarted it and taken the battery out....nothing is working.  HELP

Thank you vereyezuhn for your reply.  Sargenta, I know it can be frustrating having difficulty with the keyboard. Please follow these steps to perform a hard reset on your device to address the issue. Keep in mind a hard reset erases all personal information and downloaded applications.

 

  1. Select Menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy.
  4. Select Factory Data Reset.
  5. Select Reset Phone.
  6. Select Erase Everything.
