I have bad eyesight so maybe the hiuge display would be good? Or is it almost unpocketable? Ha and would it be hard to text discretely in class? xD and how does the new MotoBlur compare to Sense UI? I know the X isn't even out yet so can't know yet :smileytongue:

I think you best source for this information would be to look at reviews from people who were at the unveiling event.  Since the X isn't out yet, you aren't going to find a lot of hands-on opinions here.

Do look at reviews on each phone as spottedcatfish said to do.You can read reviews on phonescoop or cnet web site. Do remember that you do have 30 days to try out a phone. So say you are not happy with the phone you get, you can exchange it & choose another new different phone.

I have had the incredible for about 3 weeks now and I simply love the phone. I think either one you get you will love. I love htc sense. As far as the battery well it's real bad. I mean I wasnt even getting a half day out of it. I did get the 1750 battery and I now get about a day and a half before I have to charge. You can get one and try it and if you dont like return. The only problem is the Incredible is on back order for a month so you might have to go with the x which I think you will get before the incredible.

True, guess I kinda forgot I will likely love either one ^^' And thanks for the insight on the battery. I might wind up trying both, we'll see :smileyvery-happy:

I'd check reviews on the internet, stick with the phonescoop one or cnet... they are pretty thorough.  From what I've read and heard, HTC sense is still ahead of motoblur.  And from what I can tell of the 2 phones is they are the same in general with a couple diff twists to attract a diff type of buyer... the Incredible is more slim and sleek and can easily be pocketed and has Sense.  Where as the X is a larger screen and that lip in the back that house the camera components.  To me... if you're REALLY into multimedia... watching youtube videos and stuff like that all day... get the X... bigger screen, you'll get the upgrade to 2.2 and flash... and you can do more with the camera like the 720p HD and the HDMI output and what not.  But to get that you have to go with a bulkier phone and thicker at that top lip.  Which means also... if you get a case, it's THAT much bigger.  If you get on the net to check your email or maybe watch a video from time to time like waiting in the doctors office or something every now and then... and still want a phone that you can pocket... go with the Incredible.  Both have the 1ghz processor.. same ram... so... one is just a lil bit more intended for multi-media... but you gotta deal with bigger size.

As for the battery... yeah it will run down quick if you're on the phone ALL day like some people... but both phones are going to do that to you.   The X with its bigger screen and all that is gonna drain the battery just like the Incredible.  Bottom line you're going to want to spend $50 to get the 1750mah battery and then you always have a back up either way.

So... it's really a preference.  To me I'm sticking with the Incredible cuz it's more sleek.. fits in my pocket.. i think it looks cooler... and I don't sit there watching movies and using the net all day... so... It's a preference.

(fyi my brother works for verizon and everybody in the store got to tinker with a review model of the X for a day... they say its just as solid as the Incredible... just a lil bit more built for heavy multi-media use)

Mm the main reason I want to upgrade from a dumbphone (LG Chocolate 3) to a smartphone like the Incredible or X so badly is for the browser and video. I don't have a laptop and while I know it won't replace a computer I can use it to watch videos in my room or on the go. So I think I'll go with the bigger screen personally. Hope the battery life is as good as they say (though "good" is relative) but I might wind up getting an extended life anyway. I'm not too concerned with pocketability and I don't use cases (but maybe I'll get one of the belt-sheath type ones this time. If the hump annoys me maybe the extended battery will even out the back a bit. I think I'm preordering the X at Best Buy tomorrow cuz I heard Best Buy (in-store) are the only guys doing preorders for it now plus they give you the mail in rebate there in store.

A few other things to consider: engadget had a review of the Droid X recently. They're saying they have relatively big hands and its really difficult for them to use the phone with one hand- i.e. their thumb can't reach everywhere on the screen.

Another thing to consider is that the DX comes with a 16gb sd card installed. Droid X also has 'real buttons' on its face and not the touch button kind you see on the incredible. They are in a different order, however.

Just updating this to say that I got my hands on an EVO 4G. The EVO has nearly the same bezel as the D X and is the same width (with identical screen sizes). I have small hands and I was able to get my thumb around the EVO, just have to hold it a bit differently.

So I probably won't be able to get to a Verizon store on launch day, probably not til the 17th, what might my likelihood of getting one then and not being backordered do you think? I'm not in a big city area, think that'll improve my chances?

i would go and try to pre order now...if that's what you want to do. i came across an article yesterday that said many best buys were freexing pre orders on the X because their pre orders ALREADY exceed their expected shipment of the X.

looks like best buy is done with the pre orders. the X looks like there will be a huge demand issue as well.

Yeah Best Buy is done with pre-orders. I read in a yahoo comment about the Droid X that someone was trying to get the pre-order and Best Buy couldn't do it. Too many people trying to order it. First come first serve....oh well.

Well that's a bummer 😕 dunno when Best Buy started the preorders but was just announced the 23rd, filled up preorders in just over a week? Looks like I'll be waiting a little while longer for either the Incredible or X :smileysad: I really want an internet capable device

Oh... and one more thing... with the X... I'd be willing to bet if you don't get in on it RIGHT away... you're gonna be on a waiting list just like the Incredible is now.  Get in there or the longer you wait the longer you'll wait to get it... cuz some people are switching from the Incredible to the simply because they dont think they'll have to wait as long... keep that in mind.

It's already been proven in the reviews that the X gets much better battery life than the Incredible.  The smaller CPU architecture makes it much more efficient  than the Snapdragon in the Incredible even with the larger screen.  And I wouldn't expect anywhere near the backup as that was caused by poor judgement to include an amoled screen on the Incredible that was already in short supply.

I'm pretty sure the X comes with a longer battery than the Incredible though... which obviously would contribute to the battery life.

yeah, it has a 1540mAH battery compared to the 1300mAH in the Incredible which definitely helps but the Droid X still runs more efficiently.

I'd be willing to bet that Verizon "went to school" on the supply problems with htc and the Incredible.  I'm sure they will have a larger supply of Droid X's at launch than they had Incredibles.   They most definitely do not want a repeat of the "Incredible" shortage fiasco.

The Droid X launch date (7/15) is a Thursday.  I'm planning on going to my Verizon store sometime over the weekend and getting one.  I'm pretty sure they'll have one.  But even on the off chance they don't, I'm not ordering one on line.  I "went to school" on Verizon's online backorder problems.  Actually, I'm a pretty patient guy and whether I get my phone today or next week is not a big problem for me.

I remain, Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of the Droid X!
