Droid X won't send or receive texts

Saturday evening I discovered that my Droid X will no longer send or receive texts. Every time I send one I get an error message that says "Unable to send msg! Retry sending?" My wife also tried sending me multiple messages and none ever showed up on my phone. Everything else seems to be working, I can make calls and use my mobile web, it's just the texting that won't work.

Saturday afternoon I ordered a new phone online from Verizon and updated my plan and after that is when I noticed the problem. My plan still says I have unlimited texting but it suddenly stopped working. Has anyone else had this problem?

Start with dialing *228 and choose option 1 for programming. That usually fixes it.
