Droid X2 SD Card Problem

Hi,

I'm the proud owner of a brand spanking new X2. I purchased a 32GB card from VZW in anticipation of the X2. I have a strange problem or it may be a OS "feature" but It's causing problems with my apps.

I

n the root of the phone are at least 2 entries for sdcard and for a strange folder called sdcard-ext.

There are entries under the "mnt" folder and also in the root of the phone.

My apps only show a 4.31GB SD folder not the full 29.xGB size and can't seem to find files that I put on the "SD drive" while in Windows 7  and the SD card in the USB Mass Storage mode..

Is this sdcard-ext an OS folder and is it because the SD card is a 32GB card?

Please help me. My apps can't find their files that I sent to the SD Drive in the SAME folders and structure that they were in on my Droid X.

Thanks everyone for any help and info...

You can't just drop app folders onto your new phone like that.  You may need to go about reinstalling the apps.

This is correct, also you sound like OP may be tring to access the internal memory instead of sd card and the device will not allow any changes to be made to root directory of device or copyanything to the internal memory.

1st thing, you are posting in the Droid X area not the Droid X2 but the devices are basically the same so you can still get help hear but that site may have a bit more info at later date..

Now back to your question, it you have the .apk files you can run them and they will allow you to sideload the apps to device, just copy them to sd card and click on them one at a time to install but it may be easier to just log into your Google Market app on new phone and download them from the market, kust click menu and My Apps from market app.

Yeah, this seems to be a bug in programs like Astro and ES File Manager.  The folder labeled "SD Card" is actually the 4GB of available internal storage, and the folder labels sdcard-ext "/mnt/sdcard-ext/" is the SD card that you have inserted.  My DX2 does this also, hopefully it will be fixed by either an Android update or a program update.
