Droid X2 texting issues

Irish_Princess

My husband and I just got the Droid X2 and everytime we receive a text message we get it 3 or 4 times. Do we need to change a setting or something?

try a battery pull, you won't lose anything & it may resolve the issue.

I have thought and still do believe that this is a network issue (meaning its Verizon's fault), not the phone's fault.

Maybe not, but I kinda think so....

Geri O this is just a thought an i wanted to ask you when i looked at a Droid X 2 at one of the Verizon stores the OS its running is

supposed to be froyo but it looks to me its a Very late build of  Fro-Yo     As it looks just like Gingerbred but when i seen it was

running Android Version 2.2  that is Fro-Yo but i'm wondering since its a late Version could the  X 2  be Having  the same affects

that were seeing in Our X's  Running Gingerbred  you still have your old X Don't you. Can you see the same thing in the two. To me

they look the same even though the Os is Different.

I understand your frustration in receiving duplicate messages. Have you tried pulling the battery as Bearone21 suggested? Did that resolve the issue for you?

Your posting mentioned that the duplicate messages happen every time. Are you having this issue when sending messages as well? Please test it by either sending yourself a text message, or sending a message from one phone to the other.

Please remove the batteries while the phones are powered on. Then, wait 60 seconds. After this time has elapsed, re-attach the battery and power the phone back on. At this point, test them again.

If you are still having trouble, you can send me a private message with your name, your mobile number, and a contact number for you. I will be happy to contact you personally. For immediate assistance, you are able to contact Technical Support at 1-800-922-0204 from an alternate phone, when you have the devices with you.

Thank you very much and have a great day!

Y.es, Dinc, the appearance of Gingerbread and the X2's build of Froyo are very similar. Also, there are, I think, a few features of Gingerbread included in the X2's. I'd have to get the 2 phones side by side again to remember just what those features are. And that not likely to happen since (A) I don't really care and (B) there is a Droid Bionic in my very near future.

I hesitate to speak about problem-free GB updates (on my first X that my daughter now has and my girlfriend's X) because of all the crap I get about it, but both of those phones are still problem-free.

Actually, my X2 has turned out to be twitchier than any of the Xs I've dealt with. I'm not as happy with the X2s as I was with the Xs. But I'm having some luck solving those weird little issues on my own.

Whatever issues are being shared by the X and the X2s are, in my opinion, most likely being caused by the same set of circumstances, whatever that may be.

This is a bug dating back to Android 1.5 with the G1.  There is a long list of bug reports which isn't device specific nor carrier specific.  It happens AROUND the world.  Google doesn't have the bug at high priority.  Last time i filtered through it(about 6 months ago).
