I put my new Droid-3 weeks old- on the charger at 1:30am -at 3 am it started randomly dialing from my contact list. Dialed each number twice. Panicked friends started calling to see what the problem was;but the phone never rang -just went to voicemail. I shut the phone off after someone called my home phone to see if I was alive! I called Verizon, but they said they had never heard of such a problem. I'm now hesitant to leave my phone on when I go to bed. Has anyone else had this problem?

Has the phone by any chance been exposed to water or other liquid?

No exposure to water. Went to Verizon store and was told to remove battery every two days to a week. I've never heard of a requirement to do this.

Verizon will just hand you another droid that will be defective within two months. I am on my third and it is defective as well. Motorola has quit making them now so suppiles of repaird phones will run out soon.
They will offer to give you a lesser phone!!!!
Verizon DOESN'T CARE ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMERS ONCE THE FIRST 30 DAYS ARE UP!!!!

My daughter's Eris did this as well. We never could figure out what the problem was, and nobody else seems to know, either. We finally just got her a Droid. I have a Droid and it has never done this.
