I've had my Droid Charge now for a while and have had no issues until this last week. I have my yahoo email account on there as my main account and it has been working fine. But this week, it won't update and pick up emails. I have had to uninstall and reinstall several times now and then when trying to reinstall, it says it can't connect to the server and takes almost all day of trying to get it reinstalled or activated, whatever it is. It's getting very frustrating as I rely on my email for buisiness purposes!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Try it again BUT before you try plug your phone into the 110 volt power using the small 1 amp charger that came with the phone and leave it plugged in. Also, wait about 2-3 minutes after plugging it in before trying again.
I just had a problem where the phone would not bring up the dialer so I could make a call, that is, until I charged the battery a little bit.

Hi Dtolin,
I completely understand the importance of your email account being functional!
I would like to ask if you are able to send emails using Yahoo?
How did you set up your Yahoo account? Was it an app you downloaded from the Android Market, or did you follow the steps below?
Applications
Menu
Accounts
Because it has a better chance of pulling emails to your phone, we recommend downloading the Yahoo application from the Android Market.
If you used the steps above to get your Yahoo, please remove that app and try the free Yahoo application.
Please post back with your results, so we can make sure your email is working to your satisfaction.
Thanks and have a good day!

I love the solution they give you. instead of fixing the problems, they tell you to get something else that is even worse. I had yahoo email app, and all it did is suck the life out of battery. This the reason i went back to the stock email app that comes loaded with the phone. Yes it does have issues but all i do if i want to see if i get any new emails is just refresh.

3 options:
pay yahoo the 1.99 month for push email
use the stock app and hit refresh
or deal with a buggy yahoo app
Sounds like your verizon service is working, thats good to hear.

I have my Live Mail account, AOL and Yahoo on my phone. The Live mail updates fine, but the AOL and Yahoo do not. I have to click on the menu button then the refresh icon to get them to download.

I have used an app called K-9 for all my email. I find it has no trouble picking up various accounts (all of which I've chosen to list separately). It also provides a sent folder - so if you send an email from your phone, you've got a record on the phone as well as any bcc you might choose to have sent to your computer application.
I believe it's free - and if not, very inexpensive.

My e-mail (yahoo plus my broadband vendor's system) worked fine until the OTA update. Now, even though I have the "Email check frequency for both accounts set to "Never" (to save battery life I prefer to check manually), the system now updates the email at least several times a day. (I have no idea how often it is checking.)
How do I make it stop?

I have Verizon email and gmail and I am getting the setup up screen to add e-mail accounts when i get the new email notification. The only way I can fix this is to say it with me take the battery out and wait for the emails to reload.
