Early upgrade for secondary line..

I would like to upgrade my current phone to the Droid X when it is released on  July 15th but will I be eligibile?

I am the 2nd line on our family plan of me and my wife and she is the primary line. Her upgrade will not be available till sometime in 2011, but per the website for my line I am eligible in November to upgrade. Will I get the promotional pricing since I am eligible in November per the Verizon Smartphone promotion? Our contract end date is 3/5/11

I understand being the secondary line I will not get alot of the discount the primary line gets, just wonder what I am looking at when I go to try to upgrade on July 15th..

I know this question has been asked a thousand times and I have read over many of them trying to come to my on conclusion but none seem to fit my situation.

Thanks in advance for your answers..

As far as everything I have read, your actual contract has to end in 2010 in order to get the early upgrade!!!

rydiwags is correct.

I think where the confusion comes from is some people aren't aware of the difference between their upgrade date and their contract end date.   The Droid X promo is tied to everyones "contract end" date, which is the end of their 2 year (24 month) contract, and has nothing whatsoever to do with your 20 month upgrade date.

Verizon has the 20 month upgrade promotion in an attempt to entice you to reup to a new 24 month contract with Verizon before your current 24 month contact is up. At which time you can switch carriers without an ETF.  At 20 months you will still have a small ETF, (which is waived if you stay with Verizon) but they're hoping your desire for a new phone after 20 months will override your ability to wait 4 more months to get a new phone on a different carrier. Thus keeping you in their camp.
