Email getting deleted on server from Droid

I share my email with my wife. She gets email from work that must be saved. I don't want my Droid littered with the email. With the BB Curve, I could delete only on the handheld and save on the server. I could also delete on the server if I chose. However, with the Droid, it automatically deletes from the server without a choice. Is there a solution to this? Android doesn't give the option to not delete on server when setting up the email account, unlike other smart phones.

Actually it does... first go to account settings, server settings, incoming settings, scroll down to delete email from server, select never

I tried this, as did the Verizon tech, but the option to never delete does not appear. He even called Verizon's Android advisor who couldn't figure it out.

open the email app
go to where you see the list of incoming emails
push the tab with the lines at the bottom of the phone
open the account settings
scroll down
open incoming settings
at the bottom is "delete email from server"
select never
hope this helps
