Enlarge Fonts or Zoom view

I'm sorry if this has already been addressed, but I cannot locate a solution.

I love the Droid X phone, but some of the application font sizes are so small I need a magnifying glass just to read them.  I thought there was a way to zoom on any screen, or at the very least increase the font size for various applications.  Email and web browsing really need this tool.

My friend has a similar phone through T mobile and he just touches the screen on any application and spreads two fingers apart on the screen and it enlarges.

Please help.

Hi,It's called "pinch to zoom"  Same thing on Droid. Put 2 fingers on the screen close to each other and simply spread them apart. It is not on "every" application that Pinch to zoom works, not even on the iPhone or other similar devices.

You can change the font size in the browser as well.

Push the menu button while browser is open, this will bring up the menu.  push "more" at the far right.

Scroll down to "settings"

there you will see "text size" its the first option under settings.

Change it from Normal to Large or whatever.

Also, you can change the default zoom level there.

hope that helps

Thanks,  I assume that Pinch to Zoom is an App to download?

I tried to adjust the font settings in the browser and set them from normal to large and then to huge and it didn't seem to do anything except force the display from portrait to landscape.  I didn't see any change in the actual fonts.

Let me ask, what application are you trying to do this in?  Pinch to zoom isnt an application, it's built into Android. Have you tried it while viewing a photo from your phone's gallery?  It's blocked for some reason when viewing google.

nothing to download, it just works.  At least on my phone and my previous droid(s)

The only thing that the pinch to zoom works on is pictures that I uploaded.  Other than that, I am unable to zoom on anything or increase the font size while reading my emails, etc.

Interesting. I havent heard anyone else with that issue.  Try to clear the browser cache and then reload browser.  It should just work.  and those setting changes i suggested also just sort of work.

So, you are just using standard droid browser right, not using some application to read your email?

Call verizon if you can't figure it out,  sorry what i suggested didnt help

good luck,

Dj

try this...........

While using internet, hit menu/more.../settings.  Scroll down to "Open pages in overview" and uncheck that box.
