I keep getting an error message that reads "Download size requires Wi-Fi" for Google Maps and Skpe. Also I cannot download any new apps. Please help..Thanks

Welcome to the community! I would like to offer my assistance on this concern. I know apps are a big part of the Android experience!
I'm just assuming here, but you are using the Android Market, yes? Or other apps stores like the Amazon app store? I'm only familiar with that error message on the Amazon store, that's why I ask.
Try going to the 'Settings, then Applications>Manage Applications. Select "Market", then tap Clear Cache, Force Stop, then Clear Data. Once that's completed, re-open the Market like normal, accept the Terms of Service, then try again to download those applications.
If the error message is appearing in the Amazon app store, then you will need to actually be connected to Wi-Fi, as Amazon limits the file size on wireless network.
