Exchange ActiveSync - sync 'as items arrive.'

The 2.2 update seems to have messed up Exchange ActiveSync. I have it set to sync "as items arrive." Before the update, this worked fine. Since the update, the phone is constantly syncing, starting another sync cycle as soon as it completes one. I changed the sync schedule to every ten minutes as a work-around. Anyone have a solution which allow sync "as items arrive," without the phone constantly syncing, or is that the way it's supposed to be? I don't recall it doing that before the upgrade.

I had a similar thing happen. The phone went crazy, bing-bonging or buzzing constantly when an item would arrive as well as a constant loop of syncing.

 

I simply deleted the account and re-setup the Exchange account and seems to have fixed the issue. I don't know if you've tried that. If that doesn't work, another thread here talks about doing a phone reset. You can try that. I have done both personally as a precaution. Just make sure you have all your crap backed up before doing a reset of course.

Take a look at the Active Sync account sync settings.  Disable the calendar sync.

 

 

If the problem you have experienced goes away, you can re-enable the calendar sync after you clear the calendar cache from the phone.

 

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All (tab at the top)

 

Open the calendar apps and clear the local data from the phone.  After that, re-enable the calendar in Active Sync settings.
