FACEBOOK WALL

NEED HELP!  Suddenly on Facebook on BROWER I cannot view anything on my wall or anyone else's wall.  its just white but all the tabs on still there.  I also just recently downloaded the Facebook for droid.  I checked my facebook from a regular computer and my wall is visible as well as anyone elses wall.  Its just my phone that I cannot view walls.  This has been going on for a about a week now.  Anyone have any advice on how to fix this???  Thanks!

Check your browser settings, specifically 'User Agent'. Are you using stock browser, Dolphin, any other? If your current setting is 'Android' or 'Mobile' then change it to 'Desktop'.

My browser is just whatever my droid came with.  I remember seeing the option for desktop somewhere but I have no idea where to go.  I'm not too good with this phone.  I'm a bit lost.  I just know I used to the walls and then ithey disappeared.  UGH!

Use the menu button while in the browser and go to the settings. There should be something there called 'User Agent'.

 

If you are still on Android 2.1 do a good search for 'Android 2.1 User Guide'.

Haven't had any issues with facebook walls not displaying on the mobile or full site using the regular settings in the stock browser or dolphin but have seen the issue reported on other sites. 

 

As for the user agent option, I don't think the stock browser has it as a default.  In order to get the option, type "about:debug" (without quotes) into the address bar and hit enter.  Then hit the menu button, select More, scroll down to Settings and chose the UAString drop down at the bottom.  It'll give you the option for Android, Desktop, iPhone..

You are right about getting to it in the stock browser PJNC284.  

 

It's been so long since I've used that thin, I forgot.  :smileyhappy:

This happened to me after the update also.  I wouldnt worry about it that much.  Just wait a couple days and there will be another update in the marketplace.
