FM radio

Why do you have to have a set of ear phones plugged in to use the FM radio? Once turned on, you can turn on your speaker, but still have to keep ear phones plugged in. I want to be able to listen over the speaker with out the ear plugs in.

NO GO...the headphone wire acts as the FM antenna.  You wouldnt even get reception if you could use the FM app without the phones plugged in.

Sorry...annoying= yes.  Necessary = yes.

There's a free app in the Market called "Cherry Rplayer" which can find and play Internet streams of radio stations from all over the world.  It works great and doesn't require an external antenna.  I suggest using the search function under the "World/Live" tab to locate various bitrate streams of stations you want to hear.  In my area of New Jersey, some of the New York City AM & FM stations are difficult if not impossible to receive over the air.  With Cherry Rplayer not only can I hear them, but the sound quality is usually better than FM...even on the AM stations!
