Lately after receiving my new replacement droid with the Froyo already installed; every time i try to edit a contact i get force closed error messages? Is anyone else receiving this message?
You would want to first make sure that you have the most updated software on the phone.
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone
Touch System Updates
Then try doing a soft reset on the device by removing and replacing the battery.
Press the Power key.
Touch Power off.
Touch OK.
Press the Power key to power on the device.
Then dial *228 send and option 1 on the device.
If the problem persist, log in to your Gmail account and remove the contact, then re- enter it manually in the phone.
Did this help? some time the "soft reset" doesn't work. if it doesn't there is an easier way to clear FC error. just clear the app data and/or app cache. follow the steps listed
from home screen
menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all(sort at the top)>contacts(or whichever app your working on)>clear data and/or>clear cache.
No need to reboot, reset, pull your battery, restore defaults. those are generic steps to clear most issues, but are a pain.
