I couldn't post this while we were away in Italy as it was difficult to access the forum. We had both our Incredible 2 phones set for global roaming (though we planned on using wireless most of the time to check email and Internet since one avoids the 3G download charges). While in Rome the both phones worked fine but upon traveling to Florence each phone constantly lost the signal for both phone and 3G service and the only way to get phone service back was to restart the phone (but this was only temporary since service would drop anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes later). When we took a day trip to Siena from Florence the phones worked fine and the worked fine when we returned to Rome to catch our flight home. Since it happened to both phones, it was not a hardware issue. Perhaps it is a Vodaphone signal problem in Florence, I really don't know. This was not a major inconvenience since we really only planned to use the phones for a limited number of calls. I will mention this to Verizon when I call them today to reset service to the domestic plan. Other than this the phones worked great and Italy was amazing in that both hotels we stayed in had wireless service and in Rome many of the restaurants we went to did as well.
I would be interested to hear from others who have experienced similar issues either in Italy or other Euro countries.
