Froyo question - not a complaint!

To anyone who has received the froyo update or maybe someone just knows?....

Does the Froyo update come with any new app features?  I seen a Tethering app on a youtube video and was just curious if froyo will have applications accompanied with the many other great features?

I think those are the biggies

New widgets for messaging and email

New and better signal meter

and the ability to install many of the apps to the sd card. not to mention that i've already come across a few apps in the market that state that they will not work on 2.1 so developers are already writing new apps that won't work on 2.1.

Could someone verify that the update comes with a new radio firmware.  The old one was 1. something (phone isn't handy) I have heard there is a new baseband with this update.  Anyone seeing better battery life?

My tethering app says it will work on 2.2 and I only paid 10 dollars for it.

They may have now have two packages. Maybe $10/month gets you 2GB.

there are also third party tethering apps. he mmay be refering to one of them....that have nothing to do with vzn? haven't heard anything about the radio. also, i've actually seen some moto droid users complain that their battery is draining faster now?

Yeah there are THOSE apps, but here I was not going to bring it up.

My Froyo question is (Note I did not start a new thread  ) since I have an Alltel plan, am I relegated to the end of the line for not being a team player?

i don't know how that works? i've heard it goes by esn # on device....has nothing to do with plans, names, location, etc.
