You likely have a corrupted file in your Gallery. Several ways to isolate the culprit:
- install Gallery 3D (free) and see if that APP will launch without crasching .. If it comes up, look for a "blank" picture in yor folders and delete it.
- Connect via USB and browse the folders for Vignette and DCIM / Media for where your pics are stored. Move them off the phone to your PC ... make sure you MOVE, and not COPY ... Then disconnect from USB and re-launch your Gallery.
99.9% of the time, this issue is a corrupted file.
good luck

Menu - settings - applications - manage applications - all, find media storage, clear data, reboot.

Thanks. Will that delete my pictures?
No, but it will reset any contact ringtones and playlists.

If GALLERY 3D is successfully opening and showing your images, I would start by opening each picture 1 at a time (of course) and see if any of them don't successfully open - delete that one.. If you don't have a lot of pictures, or can just move them off the phone, that will likely solve your issue. But of course the other option is just use GALLERY 3D instead of the stock gallery app.
