Yesterday, Verizon pushed the latest android update to my phone. While some of my apps don't work as well as before and there are some feature changes I don't particularly like, I can live with the feature changes and I assume the problematic apps will eventually be updated (I hope). What IS a genuine problem for me is the change made to the notifications bar and dropdown list. Now, instead of the most recent notifications appearing on the right of the bar and the top of the dropdown list, they are appearing at the left of the bar and the extreme bottom of the dropdown list. This means that when I turn on my phone, instead of seeing the newest notifications, I see the oldest. As a result, I missed a bunch of text messages and e-mails yesterday.
My question is twofold: 1) Is there any way of changing this? I tried in vain to see if there's an option to change the order of the notifications, but found nothing. I assume there's no way to do this.
2) If this cannot be changed, do Google and Verizon recognize this as a glitch to be fixed, or is it something that they expect us to live with? Maybe it's time to start giving the iPhone a look....
Thanks in advance for any input.

My phone says I currently am up to date and have 2.3.3, and I am not experiencing this issue or ANY of the other ones posted on here... I don't get what everyone's complaining about. My notifications have always been on the left of the status bar (when were they EVER on the right, on ANY phone!?!) and the newest are on the top when I pull the status bar down (and always have been)...

I also have the latest upgrades and found no difference in my Notification Bar. New notifications and Email are on the left and the newest notifications are on the top. Do you have a notification bar apps?

No I do not nave a notification app. And the newest notifications are to the left of the oldest ones. If I have several old ones, they are off the screen and are only visible when the screen is in landscape view. I have no difficulty seeing the old notifications. And on the dropdown list the newest appear at the very bottom. It was not like this before, and I see no way to switch it back. I don't know what happened during the update

Again, mine are not like that and have never been. The new notifications on the status bar have ALWAYS been to the left on all the updates I've ever seen. And on my dropdown list, the newest notifications are on top. It goes from newest to oldest when looking from top to bottom.
I'm wondering if you have some sort of app interfering with this.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think I was very clear in my original explanation of the problem. My notifications have always appeared on the left side of the notifications bar, but new ones previously appeared towards the center of the bar, while the older ones moved left. Now, new notifications appear to the left of the old ones. With the drop-down, new notifications previously appeared towards the top of the list. Now they appear on the bottom. I have about five e-mail accounts on my phone, including g-mail, so I get a lot of notifications, especially when you add app updates, text messages, facebook, etc. This means that when I turn on the computer, my new notifications are often off the field of view. As they're on the extreme left, they usually appear when the phone is turned to the side, thereby expanding the notification bar.
I have considered that maybe some app is interfering with the order of the notifications, bue I can't think what kind of app might do this. If anyone has any ideas about a possible culprit, please share it! I have also thought maybe an uninstall and re-install of the upgrade would fix the problem, but as far as I understand, that's not an option. If I can't fix this problem, I will certainly miss important messages, since I'm not always thinking of checking for messages when I turn on the phone. I only happen to see a notification when I turn on the phone for a different purpose.
Thanks again for the input.
