I have a Droid Incredible and I never received the update for Gingerbread. Is it rolling out on all devices? Is there anyway I can download it?

The latest reply I got when I questioned HTC directly was:
While we certainly understand the need for the most updated software, unfortunately at this time we have no information available other than our official release which reads as follows:
"It has come to the attention of Verizon Wireless and HTC that customers using the Droid Incredible by HTC have experienced a voicemail notification error with the recent software update. As a result, the update has been temporarily suspended while the companies work together to resolve the issue. Verizon Wireless and HTC anticipate the update being available soon; customers will be notified directly on their devices when it is ready for download."

By the time they get an update out, my two years will be up and I'll have upgraded to the next new phone when my contract is up on 1/1/2012. VZW #fail

I received that exact same letter 10-17-11. I do wish they could at least talk to us a little more and feed us a bone or two to keep up the hope.
It also seems odd that I have read many different forums about the Gingerbread update and not once do I remember anyone saying anything about voicemail notifications. There are alot of issues but that was not one of them.

I purchased my incredible in April 2010 when 1st released. I did receive the update 2.3.4 the first week it was announced. After about two weeks, I began to see the low space issues on the phone. I knew i had plenty available but couldn't clear it. I finally reset the phone back to factory. It kept the 2.3.4 gingerbread update and I reloaded all my apps. The phone works fine to date. A friend of mine has the same phone. He purchased his earlier this year and received a replacement a few months back. He never received the update and is waiting. He called verizon, who told him HTC is sending out the updates, not them.

Be glad that you didn't get it. The bugs included in the release far outweigh any benefits, unless you like dealing with constant low space errors, buggy bluetooth, buggy voice search/dialer, voicemail issues, text messaging issues, etc.
Personally, I'm pretty disgusted by not only the patch but with how Verizon WIreless has mishandled this entire thing. All things considered, it's pretty much unacceptable.

I agree with the person's comment above, I had the update when they pushed it out up to now no one can explain why this horrible update was released or when they're fixing it. It's feels like they just didn't care about it, anyone who would of used the phone after the update would know something very wrong with it in less than 5 mins. I'm now back to froyo on my phone and all the weird issue are now gone from my phone.

Yes, it's pretty sad that this update has been released a couple of times then pulled back. More frustrating to see it released for other more current phones in the HTC series of Verizon Droids. It confirms to me that Verizon is more interested in pushing the newer phones and taking for granted that the customers with the older Incredible will just accept this. For me it means I will probably be getting my upgrade at the end of December to the Droid Razr or the Galaxy Nexus without ever having gotten a single major upgrade to my Incredible's OS.

A factory reset should put the phone back to 2.2, it did for me.

thats odd cause HTC said once your phone has been updated there is no way going back unless your phone is rooted
