am I missing the date on when this will happen, I've read it over a few time and dont see a date

It hasn't started yet. VZ has just changed the software update page. They also usually never release a date until the day of the release or the day before.

Here's another one. I "liked" the Inc 2 on Facebook, and saw this in my news feed today. The article doesn't give a date ... *hopes* for next week, but that doesn't mean anything.

Please note that this is not an update to the Gingerbread software, but a firmware update of the device. For Thunderbolt owners, since the update will go out in stages, your phone will notify you when you can perform the update.
