The only thing that seems out of place with the DroidLife post is that the users device has blurred out the build number on the devices screenshot of software installed... I am not saying this is altogether fake but I can make a system file to get the device to read any version I want, so if the poster chose to block the version number I would say there is some photoshopping at work. 
Wouldn't say its fake just not the official version .....I read Verizon is hold the update until the droid 2 relase and they will update the original x after.the x2 has it it could into june if that's true 
They may be holding it up for after the impending Rapture ... they won't have to send to as many phones ..
