Thanks for trying.  Because of other contacts, outside of this forum, I  know the restrictions you VZW folks are under and therefore completely understand and accept why you cannot completely answer my question but do keep up your helpful comments and tips, I love 'em!

This didn't work for me. The phone stops updating about one third through and the triangle error icon pops up.

Looks like I might have to root to get the update.
