Gmail and MP3 file attachment

I have a Gmail App and a gmail account. I received an email with a mp3 file attachment. How do I play it on my phone? If I open it, shouldn't it play? Or do I have to save it somewhere and open it with another app? TIA.

Once you open the Gmail Application, you would go to the message.  You can then press the preview option that is next to the attachment.  The file should then be played through the default  audio player on the device.

Sometimes the file's format is changed when it is sent to the phone, in that case you might need an audio player that will play more formats.   You can download that  from the Android Market Place.

You can also use the default browser to log into your Gmail account from the phone.
