Google Account Change

I needed to deactivate my Google account due to the overwhelming spam that I was receiving, and created a new one.  How do I change this on the HTC Incredible?  It will not allow me to access the Market App without it being changed.

Click on the Setup in the App List. There you can change your Google email account info.

The only way to get rid of a Default google account on the device that I know of is to wipe the device and start from scratch. Do back up your device and tell it to sync to your new account your contacts calendar ect and veryify it's there then wipe the device and enter your new account email and password and log in. Yes Budone is correct under settings you can choose a different account for the market...Menu | Accounts on mine..

Hello forum members,

It’s me again! I just wanted to say that the answer BakerGeckos gave is absolutely correct! Just to piggy back on your answer to mdodgson27, if you are having difficulties saving your contacts to the new Gmail account on your phone then you can export them into a .csv file on a PC. Once you have done so, you can import the .csv file into your new Gmail account from the PC once you log into your new Gmail account online. The contacts will wirelessly transfer to your device when you set up your new Gmail account on your HTC Incredible.

Keep in mind that your android market download history will not be assessable since you will have a new Gmail account. I recommend writing down the apps that you have so you can re-download them manually. If you have any additional questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reply on this post.

FYI to all of the community members, we have submitted a product issue report on the inability to change the default Gmail account on the Android devices. I understand that a factory reset is not the more desirable way to change the default account but it is all we have at this time.

Thank you...
