Got Incredible!

So I have a story that will probably anger a lot of people but hopefully give some hope to others. After spending the last few weeks trying to decide which phone to purchase I (like a million other people) decided the DINC was for me. I looked around online and quickly realized the thing was going to be nearly impossible to find.

So basically, I went to a Verizon store near where I live (there are about 5 in the city) and asked if they had any DINC's in stock. The woman working was quite rude and offputting and told me there was no way I was going to find one anywhere in the city at any Verizon store. I also checked the local Best Buy and Wal-Mart, no luck. 

Sadly, I returned to my girlfriends house and decided to try looking online for local retailers as a last resort. I called a Verizon store 10 minutes away from the one I had visited and to my surprise they had 1 HTC Incredible in stock! Needless to say, I was there in a heartbeat. They girl working was very nice and told me they had just gotten two the previous week and one was already taken.

So I understand I got extremely lucky in getting this thing when I did but hopefully others will start to see some Incredible's popping up at their local stores. If you are waiting to get the phone after ordering online then maybe this is a good sign of things to come. Best of luck to all of you!

yeah, you can randomly find them. best buys get 4-6 at a time, but are gone in a day. yahoo also has them in stock. they ship to you in a few days. between the X coming out, the phone now being 3 months old, etc.....i am guessing that in a couple weeks people will be able to just walk into a store and pick one up. nice find for you though!!!!

Yeah I guess I just feel bad for all the people who are still waiting to receive the one they ordered a month ago. In all honesty I feel like retailers and websites shouldn't get any new stock until customers who have ordered the phone have had one shipped. 

Kinda makes me feel like I'm cutting in line. Then again.. I'm not really complaining 

Also, I don't really see the demand going down anytime soon. Sure the Droid X is here but a lot of people (such as myself) don't really want a phone that large. Some may prefer a phone with Sense as well. I was originally sold on the X but after some research I decided the Incredible was the better option. It isn't really dated at all even with it being out 3 months.

When (or if) the DINC gets FROYO I feel like it will be a worthy competitor to any currently released or soon upcoming smartphone.

FROYO will (eventually) be released from HTC sometime around christmas.

A new 'jesus phone' is released every 6 months at least. Samsung Galaxy S series is going multi-carrier. Droid 2 is out in fall. Incredible/Droid X are well-equipped phones that will be 'current' enough for what app developers are throwing at them. By the time your NE2 is up, VZW is projected to start its next gen data services.
