Just turned on and added the wifi hotspot option. Connecting fine except not connecting at "N" speeds. The technical information says b/g/n but am only getting connected to the Droid at G speed of 54G. Have looked around and found nothing, no settings on the phone that turn off or on "N" protocol.
Is there a setting I'm missing? Does my wireless card driver need to be set a particular way? Should be able to connect to the phone from laptops with dual band wlan cards at N protocol given the hardware is present in the phone.
If you are usiing the hotspot on your INC2, you will never get "N" or even "G" speeds for that matter, as you are only pulling a 1 Mb/s (more or less) data stream from the 3G network. Where 802.11n is useful is when you are attaching to an N router hooked up to a large pipe of say severakl Mb/s or more, or a local network that is not broadband-constrained. Then you will see higher speeds.
Not talking phone to network. Talking laptop to phone.
No Verizon folks have any idea on how to connect at N speeds to a device that has N protocol?
