When I connect to the Wi-Fi at work, my browser won't connect and says, "Web page not available". I talked with the IT department about it, and they said the phone is not allowing me to accept the wireless certificate, so even though I am connected to the wireless, I can't access it. My co-worker has an iPhone, and when he accesses the Wi-Fi for the first time each morning, his browser shows a pop-up that says "Accept Website Certificate - The certificate for this website is invalid. Tap accept to connect to this website anyway" and then he can select either "accept" or "cancel". When he hits "accept", the browser takes him to a page that says, "Welcome to the Cisco Wireless Network. Cisco is pleased to provide the Wireless LAN infrastructure for your network. Please login and put your air space to work." There is an "accept" button for him to hit, and then his browser has access to the Wi-Fi. My problem is that my browser is not showing the initial pop-up or taking me to the browser login page, it just says "Web page not available". The IT guys say there must be a preference or setting in my phone that will allow me to get these initial messages, but I can't find them anywhere. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I found this on the blog and I am having the exact same problem to the T......has anyone found a solution to this problem it would be great to get some help with this...I read somewhere that the DINC cant handle or use certificates...is this true and if so will it be addressed with the Froyo 2.2 update...I hope so, because I would like to take advantage of my workplaces Wi-Fi connection. I find it hard to believe that a high end Android phone would have a problem like this.......My home Wi-Fi works great..no problems at all with the Verizon Actiontec router.....any responses would be greatly appreciated....................................................................Thanks

Here are the steps for adding a wi-fi network.  Some required information will be needed from the network administrator (your job IT).  Hope this helps!

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located in the lower-left).

Touch Settings.
Touch Wireless & networks.
Touch WiFi settings.
Ensure WiFi is enabled.
Note WiFi is enabled if a green check mark is present.
Touch Add WiFi network.
Enter the Network SSID.
Touch the Security drop-down.
Touch the desired Security option.
Note Supported security: WEP64, WEP128, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, 802.1x Enterprise (certificate required)
Enter the password or hex key then touch Save.
